After 35 years’ experience in cosmetology, Jyl says that there are certainly ‘tricks of the trade’ when shaping eyebrows from scratch. One helpful tool is the stencil. Some cosmetologists swear by tweezers, too. Yes, while a good pair of tweezers are great for touch ups, waxing remains the best and cleanest shaping of the eyebrows. Jyl uses different types of waxing to achieve the best look.

I have always said, “I’m not a doctor, and I don’t play one on TV.” After 35+ years working as a Master Hair Stylist, however, I have developed a professional opinion about eyebrows, too. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again “I think there’s something powerfully uplifting about a woman getting her hair done. Whether it’s a fresh, new style. Or whether it’s getting a few highlights, or even a color change, this change (when well executed) can be a huge boost to a woman’s psyche.
